How To Treat Bad Breath

Having bad breath can be a serious personal issue for some as it can be very discouraging to someone to have bad breath.  They may feel that others are Check out the tongue brush here.constantly smelling their foul smelling breathes and it can be something that many people worry about.  Some may get a case every now and then because honestly, who does not have some bad breath every so ofter?  It is a common thing that happens in life, but for some it is a much more serious and chronic condition.  There can be several causes of foul breath and with a little help we can help to determine how to treat bad breath and distinguish what the cause of the condition may be.  There could be many various sources for the bad breath with treatable symptoms that may be helpful to rid someone of their chronic bad breath.

First we must realize that there are many products out there that can be very helpful to cover up the bad breath, but not to treat the cause of it.  Mints, gum, sprays, and many other things are designed to provide a fresh tasting breath that is great for covering up bad breath for short times, but it is not treating the symptoms.  What these products are doing is helping to mask the foul smell with fresh tasting mints flavors and sprays which can be great for a night out on the town, but is not really helping when it comes to the actual cause of the foul smell and treating it.  A little fresh gum here and some fresh spray there and someone is good for a night out, but lets look at others ways of how to treat bad breath that are designed to establish a long term solution to the bad breath.

Sources of Bad Breath

First we must understand what are some of the basic sources of bad breath in the mouth.  One is bacteria that is there.  The bacteria can gather and flourish in the mouth and if not brushed away or washed out it can collect and start and ill smelling odor.  Rotting teeth and tooth decay can be a major source of bad breath as well.  This comes from the tooth literally decaying in the mouth and could need a dentist to take care of it.  Dead skin cells from the mouth and tongue can also collect in the mouth over night, especially as the mouth dries out, and can cause an odor.  The dead cells collect and begin to decompose which can cause a strong odor in the mouth.  Tobacco of any kind, alcohol, mouth diseases, anemia, and various other things have all been known to cause bad breath as well.  Some of these can be treated withBrushing teeth keeps them clean. basic dental care and others may need more attention. 

Brushing

Brushing the teeth twice a day is important.  This is the basis for stopping bad breath and should be combined with flossing as a regular dental hygiene routine.  Twice a day.  Say it with me, twice a day to take care of the teeth and to prevent the basic habits of bad breath from forming.  This should be accompanied by a regular cleaning from a dentist as most will suggest routine cleanings every six months from them to maintain the proper care of the teeth.

Brush with baking soda to help treat the bad breath.  The bacteria can thrive in an acidic environment and the baking soda will help to reduce the avidity in the mouth and make it harder for the bacteria to take hold.  Prevent the bacteria and prevent the smell from ever being produced.

Realize that the tongue can be a breeding ground for bacteria and the perfect area for dead skin cells to collect.  Brushing the tongue with a tooth brush or a special tongue scraper that can take care of those dead skin cell deposits on the tongue.  The skin cells are decomposing and the bacteria is growing until something is done about it which means that it needs to be cleaned.  Briefly after brushing the teeth brush the tongue or use a tongue scraper and make sure to rinse afterwards so that the deposits are sure to be washed away and not there to cause any foul smelling odors.

Dry Mouth

Lessen Sweets

The bacteria can feast on sugars so eat less sweeties and candies, especially gums and gummy types, as they can easily stick to teeth and let bacteria grow rapidly.  Stick to healthier options for better smelling breath.

Rinsing after eating with plan water can help to wash out bacteria and food particle in the mouth.  The food particles can cause smells as well provide food for bacteria and washing it out right after eating can be a good way to rid the mouth of these foul smelling components. 

Salt Water

Salt water can be used as a gargle to help kill the bacteria in the mouth and when rinsing with it once, or maybe twice, a day it can help to rid the body of some bacteria and keep things smelling much better.
